Greetings to you, your dear families, and church families!

I write to exhort you that you please encourage God’s precious people in your dear churches to continue to pray for and give to our needy kin-people in Taiwan resulting from the recent savaging typhoon.  Intercede for our fellow-believers who were spared from serious damages that they may reach out to the non-believing country-men/women, boys and girls for our saving lord Christ Jesus.

Let us, who are blessed with peace and prosperity in North America, heed the teaching of our blessed lord’s instruction to share with those who are in need.

I thank our loving lord for you and your precious partnership in this marvelous ministry.

Please send your collected gifts, designated “Taiwan Typhoon Morakot Love Gift”, to our treasurer Paul T. Cheung, who will send them to our sister Taiwan Baptist convention.

我以最緊急之情，請求您們與您們的教會為最近莫拉克颱風在臺灣造成的重創代禱，並請求您們參與救助災民。他們是我們最親愛的同胞，有許多是我們寶貴的基督徒弟兄姊妹 們。一位當地牧師向臺灣浸信聯會總幹事曾敬恩牧師的見證報導：在一個受難村莊57 個受難家庭中，5 個是浸信會家庭，12 個長老會家庭，其他是衛理公會、天主教等。

Dear Pastors,

On behalf of Fellowship Pres. Peter Leong and myself I write to send greetings to
you, your dear families, and church families.

I write most urgently to ask you and your dear churches to pray for and participate in giving to the victims of the recent savaging Typhoon Morakot in Taiwan. They are our precious kin-people, many of whom, our dear fellow-Christians. A local pastor’s eyewitness report to Rev. Dr. Joseph Tseng, Executive Director of Chinese Baptist Convention in Taiwan, said about only one village: 57 victimized families – among whom 5 were Baptist, 12 Presbyterian, the rest being Methodist, Catholic, and others.
